We are Maria and Sakhanlé. We built heart (un)broken because we kept noticing the same thing.
The internet is loud. We are more reachable than ever and somehow harder to reach.
Letter writing is coming back. People are hungry for it in a way that feels less like nostalgia and more like necessity.
We built this place for that feeling.
Letter writing is not dying. It is coming back. People are hungry for it in a way that feels less like nostalgia and more like necessity. They miss the offline. They miss the deliberate. They miss the feeling of saying something and meaning it.
We built this place for that feeling.
heart (un)broken is somewhere to go when you want to come back to yourself. When you want to strengthen a relationship, not just maintain it. When you have been carrying something and finally want to put it down somewhere safe.
You write the letter. You choose when it arrives. We hold it until the time is right.
It started as a simple idea. That the things we mean to say deserve more than a quick message sent from a phone in a queue somewhere. That the people we love deserve to receive something that took time. That our future selves deserve to hear from the person we are right now, before we forget what it felt like.
We are still building. But we are building it slowly, the way it deserves to be built.
We are glad you found us.
Write a letter today. To someone you love, or a future you.
