For physical letters, changes can be made up to 14 days before the date you have chosen. You will receive an email 21 days before, so you have time to decide.
You can update the recipient’s details at any time before the letter is sent. For physical letters, we send you a reminder 21 days before your chosen date, so you have time to make any changes before we print and post.
Yes. Many people use heart (un)broken to write to their future self. Choose any date you want and we will hold your letter until then.
Your letter is private.
Before it is stored, the content is encrypted, meaning even if someone gained unauthorised access to our servers, they would not be able to read it.
We do not read your letters. Access to letter content is strictly limited to what is technically necessary to deliver the service, such as sending your physical letter. For physical letters, we handle the content during printing and packing, and treat every letter with care and discretion.
You can choose to make a letter public at any time after writing it, but this is entirely optional.
You can cancel a letter at any time through your account as long as it has not yet been sent. Once a letter has been sent it cannot be recalled.
We take this responsibility seriously. In the event that heart (un)broken can no longer operate, we will notify all users as far in advance as possible and give you the option to download your letters before they are deleted. We will never let your words disappear without warning.
Physical letters are sent without tracking. Once a letter is on its way, it travels like any other letter in the post.
Video and voice notes are only available with digital letters. Physical letters are printed and posted on A5.
